Activist Workshop

LOCATION:  Community Unitarian Universalist Church 2875 E Parker Rd, Plano, TX 75074
Cost of admission: $5 for online registration.
DESCRIPTION: This event combines the power of the three main forces at play, the resistance groups, advocacy groups, and political action groups.  Many times, these organizations operate independently which creates missed opportunities of collaboration and duplication of effort.

  • Acknowledge the achievements of each attending organization

  • Allow local candidates to present their advocacies

  • Encourage collaboration, share best practices and increase support between networks

  • Utilize Activism to Get Out The Vote to flip two US Congress Districts, four Texas Legislature, and two County Commissioners seats in the 2018 midterm election

  • Networking opportunities to match organizations with participants

  • Women’s Empowerment roundtable discussion

  • How Resisting and Activism can help WIN the 2018 midterm election

  • Opportunity to meet 2018 declared candidates: Colin Allred, Danielle Pellett, Miguel Palacios, Eric Poole, Matt Lagos and Brandy Chambers
